Explain how internet marketing has made a selected business more efficient, effective and successful
Apple – my business of choice – has been using internet to reach out to their target audience for a while now and they have realised that because their market is mainly in the technology industry, they should mainly focus on digital marketing strategies. This helped Apple open a new door to both reaching and engaging their target audience, since on the internet there are more possibilities available in oppose to just boring billboards and ClearChannel ads. Digital marketing have helped Apple to be more efficient, effective and successful because they were able to use the internet as the platform for their news and upcoming events – before the iPhone 7 have been released, they have posted sneak peaks of the device on their Twitter page (such as the corner of the phone, and the camera being zoomed into the lightning port, etc.) to get their audience all "hyped up" and for the media to talk about them, getting free marketing, therefore more people know about it and the demand will also rise. Digital marketing is a very efficient platform for anything to do with technology, whether it be a product or an online service – and Apple knows this. Apple have realised that the gap in their marketing strategies were the fact that they didn't fully utilise the internet – yes, right, they have had social media pages and their own website, but they didn't start actually using the platform as a way to market their products for a while. This efficiency can be seen in their number of sales as well.
